Who owns Philosophy Ranked

Philosophy Ranked is owned and operated by Vively LLC, 1948 West Huron St, Chicago, IL 60622. We earn money when books are sold through links on this site, and we may earn money when readers subscribe to writers through our links. That gives us a financial interest in some of what we write about, and you should know about it when you read our recommendations.

1. Amazon book links

Most book titles on the site link to Amazon. These are affiliate links: if you click one and buy something within Amazon's tracking window, Amazon pays us a commission on qualifying purchases, even if you buy a different item. The price you pay is the same. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

We don't show Amazon prices, star ratings or customer reviews on the site. For current prices and availability, check Amazon. Amazon doesn't endorse Philosophy Ranked or review our content.

2. Newsletter and subscription links

Many posts link to newsletters on Substack and other platforms. We may earn a referral fee or other compensation when readers subscribe to a writer through these links. Subscribing through our links doesn't cost you anything extra.

3. Other writers we feature

Many posts also include a "Worth subscribing" section with newsletter writers we think readers will enjoy. Vively LLC works with some writers who publish on Substack. If a featured writer is a Vively LLC client, or has paid or given us anything to be featured, the post will say so where that writer appears.

4. What money doesn't change

• Rankings are not sold. No one pays to be included in a numbered ranking or to be ranked higher. Each ranking states its criteria in its introduction, and placements are argued on those criteria.
• Earning a commission on a book doesn't change where it's ranked. We link to every book we rank, whether it sells well or not.
• If we ever receive a free review copy, payment or any other benefit connected with a post, we'll say so clearly in that post.

5. How we label it

• A short "How we make money" notice at the top of each post that contains book or newsletter links.
• A note at the end of each post, including Amazon's required statement: "As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases."
• A reminder in the footer of every page, with a link back to this page.
